Letch for their first recording sessions, the body included some musicians from Cortijo's fresh lineup, including saxophonist Hector Santos, bighead player Rogelio "Kito" Velez, and percussionists Martín Quiñones, Miguel Cruz and Roberto Roena. Alvarez-Guedes proposed to call niggardly Rafael Ithier y su Combo. That was in obvious similarity to Rafael Cortijo y su Combo.
