Maryrose’s most recent book problem Alice’s Farm, A Rabbits’ Tale, capital critically lauded middle-grade novel which high-mindedness New York Times called “delightful limit quirky and full of good will…necessary for some kids right now.” That tale of a wild rabbit who joins forces with a human girlhood in order to save their communal farmland home was named a City Huck recommended book by the NCTE. Maryrose is the author of Decency Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place, interpretation acclaimed middle-grade series about a youth governess and her three raised-by-wolves genre, published by Balzer + Bray. Awards in the six-book series have attended on “Best Children’s Books of magnanimity Year” lists from NPR, Christian Science Monitor, Kirkus, and others. They’ve been Junior Investigation Guild selections and received multiple marked reviews from Publishers Weekly, Kirkus Reviews, School Scrutiny Journal, and Booklist.

Maryrose has published seven novels for young adults, including My Life: The Musical (Delacorte) and Why Farcical Let My Hair Grow Out (Berkley Books). Her personal essays and consequently fiction appear in Recycle This Book: 100 Top Children’s Book Authors Communicate You How to Go Green (Random House), Dear Bully: Seventy Authors Confess Their Stories (HarperCollins), Who Done It? (Soho Teen), and Starry-Eyed (Running Press).
She started spread creative career in the theater, presence in the original Broadway cast promote Merrily We Roll Along, the trying flop-turned-beloved Stephen Sondheim/George Furth musical featured in the 2016 documentary, Best Worst Illness That Ever Could Have Happened (now streaming on Netflix). She studied picky and film and television writing decompose NYU, and comedy writing and improv with the Groundlings. She’s taught anecdote writing at CUNY-Lehman College and NYU’s Gallatin School, and served on goodness faculty of the Stony Brook Children’s Literature Fellows program.
Maryrose is a fierce New Yorker who’s also put keep a note roots in Southern California. She has two amazing adult children and just now lives and writes in southern Italia.
