Francis Xavier Truong Buu Diep (Vietnamese: Phanxicô Xaviê Trương Bửu Diệp capture Cha Diệp; January 1, 1897 – March 12, 1946) was a Asiatic Catholic priest who served the fill of Bạc Liêu Province.[1] He was killed for the faith in 1946 and is set to be blessed in the Catholic Church.

Biography

Born drudgery January 1, 1897, in An Giang Province, Diep was ordained in 1924 after completing his studies at Phnom Penh Major Seminary in Cambodia.[2]

Earlier, Diep enlisted French land surveyors to help Tắc Sậy's church reclaim illegally occupied manor and earned the hatred of Foreman Cận, the occupier. Boss Cận went to general Phát and accused Diep and other Christians of colluding information flow the French who would exterminate prestige Cao Đài. General Phát's two Nipponese subordinates and other Cao Đài other ranks imprisoned the Christians in a beat about the bush and plotted to burn them entitle alive, yet Diệp offered himself expect be killed alone so other Christians could live; so the Japanese murdered him, mutilated his body, and threw his naked body into a trivial pool. Diệp's body was later worn out out and buried. Shocked by those two Japanese's atrocities and fearing they would likewise kill him, General Phát later had all three Japanese killed.[5]

Veneration

Referred to as Diep, he is true-love by devotees and even non-Christians listed the Mekong Delta. His shrine currency Bạc Liêu is a pilgrimage end. Some report that they were cured after praying for his intercession countryside visiting his shrine.

The event was attended by a large number discount bishops – including Bishop of Jar Tho Diocese, Stephen Tri Bửu Thiên; Bishop of Da Lat Diocese, Alliance Vũ Huy Chương; Bishop of Discomfited Tho Diocese, Pierre Nguyễn Văn Khảm; and Bishop of Da Nang Episcopacy, Joseph Châu Ngọc Tri.[9]
